Australian Refrigeration Council (ARC) technical and training manager Noel Munkman has been confirmed as a panellist for the refrigerant stewardship session at Wire & Gas 2026 on Sunday, 2 August.

Mr Munkman will join Refrigerant Reclaim Australia (RRA) general manager Kylie Farrelley and Refrigerants Australia executive director and ARC chair Greg Picker for a panel examining how the HFC phase-down is reshaping refrigerant management, why contamination risk in an increasingly complex automotive fleet demands vigilance, and what best practice looks like across servicing, recovery, and refrigerant identification.
One of the most respected voices in the refrigeration and air-conditioning sector, Mr Munkman brings a career spanning more than four decades in industry education and development. He holds a Master of Adult Education and multiple technical qualifications, and is a member of AIRAH.

Mr Munkman is also a recipient of the ARBS Hall of Fame Award (2022), the ARBS Outstanding Industry Education/Training Award (2010), and the AIRAH President’s Award (2006).
From 1989 to 2024, he served in a series of senior roles in WorldSkills refrigeration competitions at regional, national and international level, including as International Refrigeration Skill Competition Manager and Chief Judge.
His presence on the panel adds significant depth to the session, ensuring the discussion covers both the regulatory and practical training dimensions of refrigerant stewardship.
