BOC weighs into NZ refrigerant recovery program

New Zealand branches of Patton and BOC Gas & Gear in Blenheim, Nelson, Greymouth, Timaru, Dunedin and Invercargill are accepting refrigerant recovery cylinders in two-week stints between July and October 2015.
All unwanted refrigerants are accepted, with emptied cylinders returned two weeks after drop-off.
Certified cylinders are preferred, although cylinders with expired test dates will be accepted once and must be recertified before they are accepted on subsequent occasions.
BOC New Zealand general manager of sales Jamie Burley said the company is encouraging “any profession from refrigeration and air-conditioning specialists to supermarket operators and mechanics to drop off their unwanted refrigerants to their local collection point”.
“Both Patton and BOC will accept approved cylinders and containers with quantities above 10 kilograms at no charge to the participant.”
Whangarei, Hastings, Gisborne, Napier and Palmerston North had their collections between April and June.
