WIRE & GAS 2020 is developing into a truly world-class event, with Andy Fiffick (CEO and Chairman of VASA’s North American counterpart MACS Worldwide) announced as the event’s third confirmed overseas expert speaker.

Andy has embraced the service of electric and hybrid vehicles at the multiple workshops he owns in the United States and with several decades of experience in the industry, can share what he has learnt from both overcoming the challenges and leveraging the opportunities presented by the rapidly developing landscape of automotive technology.

He will join Michael Ingvardsen, who is president of European VASA counterpart MACPartners, in a rare meeting of the world’s biggest three specialist automotive thermal management industry associations.

All this global expertise in one place will help VASA members navigate the current and future challenges presented by technological and regulatory upheaval against the backdrop of new refrigerants and the changing, increasingly important role of HVACR technology in automotive thermal management.

Helping address another growing challenge in workshop land will be a training session from diesel fuel injection specialist Clinton Brett, founder of Diesel Help Australia and fifth-generation mechanic who has diagnosed thousands of diesel engine faults since joining the industry in 1990.

VASA Vice President Brett Meads will deliver an important seminar titled “diagnosing the customer” that will help workshop owners and technicians tailor their offering and deliver the best possible value, resulting in happy customers, repeat business and word-of-mouth referrals.

As previously announced, the Wire & Gas 2020 training line-up also includes EV repair expert Craig Van Batenburg on his first trip to Australia from his base in the United States. He will make working on hybrid and electric cars with high-voltage circuits less intimidating and outline the considerations when working with HVAC systems designed for electrified vehicles.

Helping the Wire & Gas audience understand the bigger picture of future electrified vehicle uptake in Australasia and what this means for their business will be Jet Charge CEO Tim Washington, who leads Australia’s largest supplier, installer and manager of electric vehicle charging stations.

Watch this space as VASA further builds out this world-class roster of speakers and trainers for Wire & Gas 2020.
