Nominate now for REDARC Young Technician of the Year – $5250 prize!

Leading Australian electronic equipment manufacturer REDARC is offering a $5,250 prize for the 2026 REDARC Young Technician of the Year Award, to be announced at Wire & Gas in Brisbane.

Nominations are now open, and the winner will also receive a fully funded ticket to Wire & Gas, to be staged by VASA and The Automotive Technician in Brisbane, 31 July- 2 August.

The award is open to VASA members (or those working in VASA member businesses) under 30 years of age, to celebrate their contributions in the automotive industry.

The winner will receive $5250 retail value of REDARC items of their choosing, plus their Wire & Gas registration, including accommodation and travel to and from the event.

VASA president Brett Meads said the award reflected VASA’s and REDARC’s shared belief in nurturing and empowering the next generation of automotive professionals, and fostering innovation, leadership and excellence.

REDARC managing director Anthony Kittel said his company’s promotion of the industry through this award helped young people to see there’s a career path, and it recognised their great efforts and the knowledge and experience they had learned.

The 2024 inaugural winner, Dion Carle from Voltaic Auto Electrical in Perth, said it was not only an honour to win but also a great opportunity to learn from industry experts at Wire & Gas.
