Brisbane Truck Show promises electrification

This year’s Brisbane Truck Show will host the launch of EV Automotive’s EC11 electric van and minibus, which have received full volume Australian Design Rule certification and compliance.

Available in 12.3 cubic metre E-Cargo and 12-seat E-Crew formats, the EC11 has a 1.7-tonne payload and its 73.6kWh battery provides a claimed range of 200-300km depending on load, with CCS Type 2 DC fast charging or 22kW AC capacity for overnight top-ups at the depot.

The drivetrain produces peak power and torque of 100kW and 750Nm, the latter almost double that of diesel engines fitted to similar-sized vans.

EV Automotive, a new Australian company that partners with electric bus manufacturer Skywell Industries, is hoping the E-Cargo will change the game for last-mile logistics operators and that the E-Crew will provide pubs, clubs, aged care and NDIS facilities, or even airport shuttle operators, with a viable electric option.

Pricing and more specifications will no doubt be revealed along with the vans when the Brisbane Truck Show takes place at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre from Thursday 13th to Sunday 16th May this year.
