Gold sponsor: Refrigerant Reclaim Australia
Refrigerant Reclaim Australia (RRA) is the not-for-profit industry-funded product stewardship scheme that collects and safely destroys ozone depleting (ODS) and synthetic greenhouse gas (SGG) refrigerants to prevent their emission to the atmosphere, and consequent environmental degradation. Since commencing operations in 1993 RRA has destroyed more than 5,000 tonnes of contaminated and unusable refrigerant, saved 10 million tonnes of stratospheric ozone from destruction, and prevented the emission of more than 10 million of carbon dioxide equivalent gases.
RRA is the end of a pipeline that is constantly being filled by conscientious hard-working tradespeople who care about their customers, trade and the environment. Right across Australia, everyday, technicians choose to recover and collect ODS and SGG refrigerants during thousands of service operations, sometimes just grams at a time, others by the kilogram and the occasional tonne.. The high quality refrigerant is reused and the rubbish sent to RRA for destruction, but the overall success of the program is driven by the person on the tools.
RRA is also sponsoring the Wire & Gas Happy Hour.

Silver sponsor: SuperCool Asia-Pacific/Unicla
Finishing off its 50th anniversary year, Unicla demonstrated its can-do ethos by developing the 380 Series high-capacity compact compressor, which will take pride of place on the SuperCool Asia-Pacific trade show exhibit at this year’s Wire & Gas convention.
Unicla’s 380 Series compressor is a prime example of how the company responds to customer requests and was conceived when a leading Hong Kong tour bus manufacturer realised there was no 380cc-400cc capacity compressor on the market that could fit into a tight space.
“Unicla had a wonderful time celebrating our 50th anniversary and we are looking forward to punching on toward the next 50 years and beyond,” said Unicla and SuperCool Asia Pacific managing director Mark Mitchell.
