December MACS bulletin is all about the technology of warming electrified vehicles

THE Northern Hemisphere winter has well and truly set in, so MACS has themed its latest Service Report around the evolving technologies used to heat and cool the cabins of electrified vehicles.

If you have been reading your SightGlass News, you will be well aware of the developments in automotive heat pump technology, which is among the subjects covered in this month’s MACS bulletin.

Electric drive compressors are also discussed, along with the HVAC system of Nissan’s pioneering Leaf electric car and an efficient new electric cabin heater from component supplier Webasto.

There is also a preview of upcoming ‘molecular heat pump’ technology being developed in the United States.

Finally, there is a little dig at Tesla due to the lack of available technical repair information or even spares outside its factory-owned dealer network.
