Kevin O’Shea honoured

President of the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Contractors Association (RACCA), Kevin O’Shea, was recognised in the Queen’s Birthday 2019 honours list.

Mr O’Shea has been appointed a Member (AM) in the General Division of the Order of Australia for significant service to the refrigeration and air-conditioning industry.

He has been RACCA president since 1999, and president of its NSW division since 1991, has served as chair of the Australian Refrigeration Council and is a board member of both Refrigerant Reclaim Australia and ARBS.

In his capacity as owner of HVACR specialist Cold Rae, O’Shea is an active member of several industry training committees.

He also delivered presentations about refrigerants the 2017 Future:Gas seminar roadshow that was organised by VASA on behalf of the stationary HVACR sector.

In an interview with his local newspaper, The St George & Sutherland Shire Leader, Mr O’Shea described his service to industry as a privilege.

“The refrigeration and air conditioning industry is a great industry and I am very happy to have spent my whole working life, from a 15 year-old apprentice to now working in this trade,” he said.

Earlier this year, former Refrigerants Australia executive director Steve Anderson was recognised with a Medal in the Order of Australia in the 2019 Australia Day Honours List for his outstanding contribution and service to the air conditioning and refrigeration industry through the development of environmental policy.
