VASA member British Off Road wins MTAQ Innovation Award

British Off Road, which apart from being one of Australia’s most respected Land Rover specialists is moving into electric vehicle conversions, has taken out the Innovation Award art this year’s MTAQ Industry Awards Gala.

In a celebratory social media post the VASA member said: “We are very proud to have won the 2023 Motor Trades Association of Queensland Innovation Award – a huge thank you to our whole team for all their hard work and commitment!”

Vehicles British Off Road has converted to electric include a 1967 VW Kombi, a 2022 Toyota HiLux 4×4, an ex-military Land Rover Perentie and a 1969 VW Beetle.

Also shortlisted for the Innovation Award were Queensland University of Technology doctoral candidate Sarfraz Ali Kyani who is researching ways to improve of end-of-life vehicle recycling, including recycling parts into material used in 3D printing of new components.

British Off Road also faced competition from electric moped and scooter brand Benzina Zero.
